Light Malt Extract Powder (LME)

About this malt extract

Light Malt Extract Powder is the nutrient half of malt extract agar. It dissolves easily and supplies the carbohydrates mycelium needs. Its light color makes clearer plates than darker malts, so growth and contamination are easier to spot.

How to use it

1. Mix 30 g of light malt extract per liter of distilled water, along with your agar.
2. Heat and stir until fully dissolved.
3. Sterilize at 15 PSI for 30 minutes.
4. Pour into sterile petri dishes while still hot.
